Cogmedix Adds Clean Room

Worcester, Mass.-based Cogmedix, a subsidiary of Coghlin Companies Inc., has expanded its medical device contract manufacturing facility to add an additional 8,500 square feet. According to the company, the expansion accommodates growth in medical device manufacturing, servicing, warehousing, and order fulfillment. There has been a growing demand for manufacturing capabilities to support laser based medical devices and dental devices—and Cogmedix is responding to that demand, adding capabilities that complement its current technical differentiation in manufacturing complex electro-mechanical medical devices.

“Innovators of complex laser based medical devices can now benefit from a flexible, cost conscious medical device manufacturer with great experience and growing capabilities that can be leveraged across a wide customer base,” said Matt Giza, vice president and general manager of Cogmedix. He said the company’s aim is to expand is medical device manufacturing and services from the northeast region to the wider United States.

The expansion includes a 400-square-foot class 10,000 clean room with laminar flow hoods for additional sub environment particle control. The laminar hoods prevent contamination of any sensitive device that needs to remain sterile.
